There are lots of little tips and tricks that can help save money on a daily basis. Watching programmes such as SuperScrimers Challenge, which is on Channel 4 weekdays at 13:45, there are great ideas to save money as well as how to update things you already have by spending a minuscule amount of money.
Another great way to save money whilst at uni, is by signing up to deal sites, like Groupon, KGB Deals and Living Social. Another fantastic site that I absolutely LOVE!!! is StudentBeans. You'll need to sign up for daily emails but they are so worth it.
I have found that a good way to keep track of money is by creating a cash flow forecast for each term. Type in your starting balance, your incomes throughout the term, your expenses throughout the term and then calculate the closing balance. I do a weekly forecast because for me it is easier at sorting out when everything comes in and goes out of my bank account. This will allow you to keep track of your finances throughout the term and throughout the year and you can see where you're spending your money, where you may be able to save money and you can see how much money you're going to have over at the end of each term. This means that you know how much money you will have over, so that you can save up for that special summer vacation with your friends, or you can treat yourself to that pair of shoes you've been longing for. There are loads of ideas.
